Today we travelled the Golden Circle. The highlight today is that Iceland has no snakes or mosquitos. We first visited Thingvellir National Park. These are pictures on the way there.
The glacier was in the distance from the road as we were passing. Dyrhólaey overlooked the Black Pebble Beach that we visited this morning. The waves were heavy. The volcanoes have left so much behind like the structures in the water that seem to come out of nowhere.
This was an unreal site. The sun was out (not a usual occurrence in this part of Iceland) and there were many many icebergs in the Lagoon. We went out in the Lagoon in a boat.
See later post for initial information on Tomato Farm. They use bees imported from the Netherlands to pollinate from the blossoms on the tomatoes. They are good for 6 or 7 weeks; they are transported in a box of 600 bees and 3-5 new boxes are needed each week. Everything is maintained through his phone - watering, opening or closing windows. The vines look like they get as long as 20 foot long. They grow in soil with water constantly piped in.
